Treatment for Peritoneal Mesothelioma
Surgery: In the case of peritoneal mesotheliuoma, an operation called laparotomy is generally performed. This surgery involves the opening up of the abdominal cavity to remove a part or whole of the tumor.
Chemotherapy: In a procedure called intraperitoneal chemotherapy, cancer fighting drugs may be placed directly into the abdomen.
